Solution 1: Update to Shockwave Player for 64-bit Mac OS
Before we go further, realize that the majority — if not the vast majority — of people running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard are running in 32-bit mode. In a lot of ways, I think that the 64-bit capability of the operating system is there for future growth of the platform, not because your iMac or PowerBook can handle it (or needs it, for that. A 32-bit Mac OS X kernel has been able to run 64-bit Applications since Mac OS X Leopard (10.5). With Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Most of the applications bundled with Snow Leopard have been built as 64-bit applciations, and RUN that way on both 32-bit and 64-bit Mac OS X kernels. Fortunately, my mid-2011 iMac can’t run Mojave so I’ll be able to keep running the most important 32-bit only application I have. Unfortunately, the reason is because the vendor, Hardy Macia, passed away in 2013 so there will never be a 64-bit version. I’ve tried several similar applications but they all come up short.

The error message appears because Adobe Shockwave 11.5 is a 32-bit application, and Mac OS X 10.6 is a 64-bit operating system. For more information on 64-bit support in Mac OS X, see What's new in Snow Leopard.
