As Gary pointed out in this video, it is no longer possible to use the Mac Photos app on the most recent version of macOS (Mojave) to directly post photos to Facebook. However, it is still possible to use the Photos app on the most recent version of iOS on the iPhone and iPad to post photos to Facebook.
If you want to share pictures via email using Photos for Mac, you can do so using the Share button in the Photos toolbar.
To share using Gmail, your Gmail account needs to be added to the Mail application. If it hasn't already been added, see this article for help:

Use these specific steps to share pictures from the Photos app to your Gmail account in the Mail application:
You can use Mail to email photos directly from Photos. When you use Mail to send photos in an email, Photos sends it from the first account listed in your Mail preferences. If you have other email accounts set up in Mail preferences, you can select which email account to send the email from when you send it.
